SkySim ECCM II — Advanced Deception, Agility and Sidelobe-Defense Scenarios

SkySim ECCM II extends the SkySim electronic-warfare training environment with advanced angle, velocity, waveform, receiver and antenna-sidelobe scenarios.

It allows instructors to generate controlled AGPO, VGPO and sidelobe-attack scenarios and to introduce radar-side counter-countermeasure concepts including waveform and receiver agility, pulse-compression diversity and antenna side-lobe blanking.

The resulting scenario data can be analysed and processed by trainees in FreeScopes ECCM II.

For military radar academies, EW training centres, technical universities and radar research laboratories.

Training Advantages

  • Advanced Deception Scenarios — Train with controlled angle-gate and velocity-gate deception.
  • Reproducible EW Exercises — Repeat the same advanced scenario for comparison, teaching and assessment.
  • Radar-Side Agility Concepts — Demonstrate waveform and receiver agility in a controlled simulator environment.
  • Pulse-Compression Diversity — Compare pulse-compression approaches under advanced EW conditions.
  • Sidelobe Attack and Blanking — Demonstrate sidelobe-related attack scenarios and antenna-blanking concepts.
  • Central Scenario, Independent Analysis — The instructor controls the common SkySim scenario while trainees analyse the resulting data independently in FreeScopes ECCM II.

What SkySim ECCM II Does

SkySim ECCM II adds advanced EW and ECCM scenario generation to the SkySim environment.

Where ECCM I focuses primarily on Angle and Velocity Deception, PRI Jitter, RGPO, Antenna Sidelobe Attack scenarios and Antenna Side-Lobe Blanking, ECCM II moves into more advanced angle-, velocity-, waveform-, receiver- and sidelobe-related scenarios.

The module supports instructor-controlled exercises in which one common advanced EW scenario is generated centrally while trainees independently analyse the resulting data in FreeScopes ECCM II. Typical uses include AGPO, VGPO, sidelobe-attack, waveform and receiver agility, PRI jitter, dwell control, pulse-compression diversity, countermeasures against AGPO and VGPO, and antenna side-lobe blanking.

From ECCM I to ECCM II

  • SkySim ECCM I introduces Angle and Velocity Deception, range deception, RGPO, Antenna Sidelobe Attack and decoy scenarios
  • SkySim ECCM II extends training into angle and velocity deception and sidelobe attacks
  • Demonstrate AGPO and VGPO together with supported countermeasures
  • Compare waveform agility, receiver agility, PRI jitter and dwell control
  • Compare pulse-compression-diversity and antenna-blanking scenarios
  • Use one instructor-controlled scenario with independent trainee analysis in FreeScopes ECCM II

SkySim ECCM II vs. FreeScopes ECCM II

SkySim ECCM II generates the advanced EW scenario and counter-countermeasure data. FreeScopes ECCM II is the trainee-side analysis and processing environment.

SkySim ECCM II defines and generates the common advanced EW scenario stream, including AGPO, VGPO, sidelobe attacks and the supported radar-side counter-countermeasure concepts.

FreeScopes ECCM II provides the corresponding student workspace in which trainees analyse, process and compare the resulting radar data.

Main Training Scope

Angle and Velocity Deception

  • AGPO — Angle Gate Pull-Off — Introduce controlled angle-gate deception scenarios and demonstrate how apparent target-angle information can be manipulated in the training environment.
  • Countermeasures against AGPO and VGPO — Demonstrate the supported simulator-side counter-countermeasure concepts for angle-gate and velocity-gate deception.
  • VGPO — Velocity Gate Pull-Off — Introduce controlled velocity-gate deception scenarios and their effect on radar target interpretation.

Waveform, Receiver and Pulse-Compression Agility

  • Waveform Agility and Receiver Agility — Demonstrate waveform-agility and receiver-agility concepts in controlled simulator scenarios.
  • Range Deception — Introduce PRI-jitter concepts as part of advanced EW training scenarios.
  • Dwell Control and Pulse-Compression Diversity — Compare dwell-control and pulse-compression-diversity approaches under simulated EW conditions.

Sidelobe Attack and Antenna Blanking

  • Antenna Sidelobe Attack — Generate controlled sidelobe-attack scenarios for training and comparison.
  • Antenna Side-Lobe Blanking — Demonstrate antenna-blanking concepts at training and scenario level.

Where It Fits

SkySim → SkySim ECCM I → SkySim ECCM II → FreeScopes ECCM II

SkySim provides the base simulation environment. SkySim ECCM I adds initial noise, range-deception, Antenna Sidelobe Attack and decoy scenarios. SkySim ECCM II adds advanced angle, velocity, waveform, receiver and sidelobe scenarios. FreeScopes ECCM II provides the corresponding trainee-side analysis and processing environment. The instructor controls the common scenario while trainees apply independent processing approaches.

Prerequisites / System Requirements

  • SkySim
  • Dedicated SkySim Server Module
  • SkyRadar CloudServer Software
  • Separate dedicated CloudServer Server Module
  • FreeScopes ECCM II for corresponding trainee-side analysis and processing exercises

SkySim ECCM II extends the SkySim environment and uses the standard SkyRadar SkySim / CloudServer architecture. Exact licence modules, scenario controls and final parameter availability depend on the delivered software release and course configuration.

Who It Is For

  • Military radar training academies and air-defence or surveillance training organisations
  • EW training centres and EW instructors
  • Radar engineers
  • Technical military universities
  • Radar and EW research laboratories

Learning Outcomes

After working with SkySim ECCM II, trainees can explain angle-gate and velocity-gate deception; configure and compare advanced EW training scenarios; describe waveform and receiver agility; explain PRI jitter and dwell control; compare pulse-compression-diversity scenarios; understand sidelobe-attack and antenna-blanking concepts; distinguish simulator-side scenario generation from trainee-side signal analysis; and analyse resulting scenario data in FreeScopes ECCM II.
