Recording and Data Capture
- Capture radar IQ data
- Preserve associated metadata where supported
- Prepare datasets for later training use
FreeScopes Record, Replay & Livestream
FreeScopes Record, Replay & Livestream captures radar IQ data and associated metadata, replays recorded datasets and supplies live data to the training environment where supported.
FreeScopes also connects radar training directly with external numerical computing environments. Data can be exported from any point in the FreeScopes block diagram as HDF5 for processing in MATLAB or other numerical computing environments, then re-imported into FreeScopes to visualize and compare the outputs of externally developed filters, algorithms and processing chains.
This bidirectional workflow enables instructors and trainees to repeat experiments with identical inputs, compare FreeScopes and externally developed processing approaches, and combine real-radar and simulated-data workflows.
Designed for radar-training laboratories, universities, defence academies and technical training environments.
Compatible radar sources provide real measurements where applicable, while SkySim provides simulated radar IQ data and scenarios. FreeScopes Record, Replay & Livestream handles capture, replay and live-data workflows where supported, and FreeScopes processing modules provide trainee-side analysis and visualisation.
Radar or SkySim data source → Record, Replay & Livestream → FreeScopes processing and visualisation
This architecture supports repeatable classroom exercises without presenting the product as an operational surveillance or archiving system.
Compatible radar or SkySim source → Record, Replay & Livestream → FreeScopes processing modules
FreeScopes Record, Replay & Livestream complements compatible radar sources, SkySim and FreeScopes processing modules. A NextGen radar or another compatible source supplies real measurements where applicable; SkySim supplies simulated data and scenarios; the extension handles supported capture, replay and live-data workflows; an external numerical environment provides optional external HDF5 processing; and FreeScopes supports re-import, trainee-side visualization and comparison. CloudServer and the Server Module may support larger classroom deployments where required.
External Algorithm Development & Validation: Trainees learn to export intermediate radar data from any point in the FreeScopes block diagram as HDF5, develop or test filters and algorithms in MATLAB or another numerical computing environment, and re-import the processed results into FreeScopes for visualization and comparison.
Trainees can also explain the difference between recording, replay and livestream workflows, capture supported radar or simulation data for later training use, and replay recorded datasets for repeatable experiments.
Real radar measurements for compatible capture and live-data workflows.
Repeatable simulated radar data and scenarios for training.
Foundational radar signal processing and visualisation.
Classroom-scale deployment support where required.
Capture supported radar data, replay identical datasets and connect live training workflows to FreeScopes where available.
