SkyRadar Active Target
The SkyRadar Active Target brings real RF effects into ECCM training with the SkyRadar NextGen 8 GHz Pulse Radar. It allows trainees to observe controlled active-target and range-deception effects in a short-range laboratory environment and analyse the resulting radar data in FreeScopes.
Its primary training role is to support practical RGPO and related ECCM exercises using real hardware effects rather than simulation alone.
Designed for defence academies, radar-engineering laboratories, universities and technical training environments.
SkySim allows instructors to create repeatable electronic-warfare scenarios in software. The SkyRadar Active Target adds a complementary physical training path. Trainees can observe how a controlled active target changes the radar return and then study the effect in FreeScopes.
NextGen 8 GHz Radar → Active Target scenario → radar measurement → FreeScopes ECCM analysis
The system is designed for short-range laboratory experiments with the NextGen 8 GHz Pulse Radar. Its purpose is to make concepts such as range deception and RGPO observable in real radar measurements.
NextGen 8 GHz Radar → SkyRadar Active Target → FreeScopes ECCM I
SkySim provides the complementary simulated path. The NextGen radar provides the real radar measurement, the Active Target provides the controlled active or deceptive target effect, and FreeScopes provides the trainee analysis environment.
SkySim is complementary and is not a mandatory dependency of the physical Active Target.
After completing the exercises, trainees can establish and compare baseline and deceptive radar returns, explain how controlled range deception affects real measurements, analyse the resulting data with FreeScopes ECCM methods, and distinguish complementary simulator and real-hardware training paths.
Detection, analysis and comparison of disturbance and deception effects.
Advanced radar-deception detection and analysis training.
Real radar measurements for short-range laboratory exercises.
Repeatable simulated radar and EW scenarios for complementary training.
Use the SkyRadar Active Target with the NextGen 8 GHz Pulse Radar and FreeScopes to make controlled range-deception and RGPO concepts observable in the laboratory.
SkyRadar develops innovative radar training solutions and simulation systems, empowering education, research & professional training in aviation and defense sectors.
