FreeScopes ECCM II — Advanced Radar Deception Detection and Analysis

print-icon

FreeScopes ECCM II

FreeScopes ECCM II, formerly FreeScopes Disturbance Filtering & Analysis II, extends the disturbance-analysis training introduced in ECCM I into more advanced radar deception scenarios. Trainees learn to identify and analyse deceptive effects that manipulate apparent target angle, velocity or radar-signal characteristics.

The module is used with controlled SkySim ECCM II scenarios. The instructor defines the common electronic-warfare scenario, while trainees independently apply FreeScopes detection and analysis methods in their own workspaces.

Designed for military radar academies, defence-oriented technical training centres, universities and radar research laboratories.

Training Advantages

  • Move Beyond Range Deception — Extend ECCM training toward more advanced deception effects.
  • Detect Angle Deception — Study AGPO effects and abnormal angular target behaviour.
  • Analyse Velocity Deception — Observe VGPO and manipulated apparent target velocity.
  • Study Adaptive Deception — Examine SASP-oriented detection concepts where included.
  • Work Independently — Apply analysis methods while the instructor controls the shared scenario.
  • Prepare for Advanced EW Analysis — Build practical understanding of complex radar deception.

From Basic Disturbances to Advanced Radar Deception

ECCM I introduces noise jamming, sector and barrage jamming, range deception, RGPO and static active-target deception. ECCM II moves into advanced analysis of manipulated target angle, target velocity and more complex adaptive or statistical deception effects.

Advanced EW scenario → radar effect → detection → analysis → comparison

SkySim ECCM II generates the common advanced scenario. Each trainee independently uses FreeScopes ECCM II to detect, analyse and interpret its effects.

Where It Fits

Radar & DSP Foundation → Surveillance Processing → ECCM I → ECCM II

ECCM II is the advanced continuation of ECCM I, extending the training path from noise and range-deception analysis into angle, velocity and adaptive-deception analysis. The exact progression depends on the delivered commercial configuration.

Prerequisites

  • FreeScopes environment
  • SkySim Radar Simulator Extension — ECCM II for advanced simulator-generated scenarios
  • Applicable licensed extensions and datasets in the delivered configuration

No general hardware compatibility matrix is claimed for this Overview.

Who It Is For

  • Military radar academies and defence-oriented technical training centres
  • Electronic-warfare and advanced radar-processing programmes
  • Universities and applied radar programmes
  • Radar and signal-processing research laboratories

Learning Outcomes

After completing the module, trainees can explain how angle- and velocity-deception techniques affect radar information; identify AGPO- and VGPO-related behaviour; apply the confirmed FreeScopes detection methods; examine SASP-oriented detection where included; and compare radar-processing results before, during and after controlled deception scenarios.
