SkyRadar's NextGen 8 GHz Pulse radar is the modular ATC-training, education and research oriented close range pulse & Doppler radar, which is able to cover the complete range from introduction into radar and pulse technology to most complex experiments on artificial intelligence.
The base unit provides a fully operational close range radar. The abbreviation PSR stands for primary surveillance radar and emphasizes the conceptual proximity of the PSR and large size radar towers in air traffic surveillance. FreeScopes for PSR and Target Tracker are included.
The FMCW base module of the SkyRadar Modular Radar Training System provides a fully operational close and near range radar. The abbreviation FMCW stands for Frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar. FreeScopes for FMCW and Target Tracker are included.
Virtual Control Center for the NextGen Radars, including A-Scopes, B-Scopes and PPI. The Control Center reads out I and Q data, from SkyRadar's 8 GHz NextGen Radars. It includes several controls such as Tx Power Control, FFT, Static Threshold, STC and more.
To allow for 360° (endless) PPI rotation, swivel modes or target tracking for the NextGen radars, SkyRadar provides a robust rotary tripod, equipped with a slip ring for electrical transmission and powered by a step motor.

A stainless steel parabolic reflector calibrated and optimized. The reflector is placed on a variable mounting with adjustable slope angle. It bundles the radar beam to increase the system’s range. (in the case of the NextGen radars, the parabole is included)
The SAR Module is an extension of the FMCW base. A step-motor-controlled linear axis allows movement of the transceiver. SAR aggregates the data producing resolutions which go far beyond results of a normal antenna.
For indoor and outside experiments the chain-driven remote controlled moveable device is able to move freely in the laboratory without any of the limitations of a target table or a rail system. It is part of SkyRadar’s Radar Training System.
This ADS-B live module tracks real ADS-B squitter signals in the sky, and with the help of a sophisticated simulation, it augments the received set of data and complements it with Mode A, C and S interrogation signals.
The simulator includes the simulators on Pulse, CW, FMCW, SAR, eSAR, SSR, ADS-B, TCAS and more. A comfortable pseudo-pilot screen allows to set the scene and to place aircraft (with different positions, speed and height) in the sky. An unlimited amount of concurrent Controller Work Positions (CWP) can analyze primary and secondary radar images through scopes like A-Scopes, B-Scopes or PPI-scopes.
