Primary and secondary radar towers are electro-mechanical devices, with motors and motor control systems. SkyRadar's electromechanical laboratory provides a comprehensive learning environment for various kinds of motors and their control.
The laboratory includes various motors in miniaturized towers
The laboratories teach how to control DC-Motor and the synchronous motor with servo-control. A powerful visualisation and control software allows to control the motors and to visualize parameters.
The asynchronous motor is controlled by a Siemens Step 7 PLC. Its starts up in a star-delta mode.
