The TrainAir Plus network consists of four categories of membership. This article discusses each membership category and its associated benefits.
ICAO’s TrainAir Plus Programme is a network formed of training organizations and operators that have been approved or recognized by their respective country’s government body. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Training divisions of airlines, airports, civil aviation authorities, and maintenance organizations
- Private training organizations
- Specialized aviation-related safety training centers
- Aviation institutions and industry organizations
TrainAir Plus’s four membership categories are:
- Associate Membership
- Full Membership
- Regional Training Center of Excellence (RTCE) Membership
- Corporate Membership
Each TrainAir Plus membership category has its that must be met for the applicant to be approved for membership.
Benefits of Becoming a TrainAir Plus Associate Member
Upon being accepted for an Associate Membership, members receive the benefit of:
- Belonging to an internationally recognized network of training centers
- Access to Member’s website via the TrainAir Plus website
- Recognition from the ICAO as a training organization with utilizing a quality management system
- Technical assistance from the ICAO in standardizing training based on globally recognized methodologies for course development
- Access to Standardized Training Packages (STPs) developed by fellow Members
- Support through technical expertise, resources, and oversight to increase training capacity
- Hosting TrainAir Plus courses
- Continuous access to TrainAir Plus’s Electronic Management System (TPeMS)
- Reduced fees for a wide range of STPs and ICAO courses
Benefits of Becoming a TrainAir Plus Full Member
Upon being accepted for a Full Membership, members receive all the benefits that Associate Members receive along with:
- Access to technical assistance when developing STPs
- Ability to produce training certificates through the TPeMS
- Earning revenue by selling their STPs to fellow TrainAir Plus Members
- Recognition as Compliant Training Package (CTPs) for their submitted training packages
Benefits of Becoming a TrainAir Plus RTCE Member
Upon being accepted for an RTCE Membership, members receive all the benefits that Associate and Full Members receive with the addition of:
- Receiving recognition from the ICAO as a regional training leader
- Partnering with the ICAO to develop ICAO Training Packages (ITPs) according to ICAO provisions (Annexes and guidance material) for training in:
- Air Transport
- Flight Safety and Safety Management (Annexes 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 18 & 19)
- Air Navigation Services (Annexes 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 & 15)
- Aerodromes (Annex 14)
- Environment (Annex 16)
- Security and Facilitation (Annexes 9 & 17)
Benefits of Becoming a TrainAir Plus Corporate Member
Corporate Membership is available to industry organizations and aviation institutions who want to participate in TrainAir Plus activities and have access to network Members. Upon acceptance as a Corporate Member, companies may contribute to TrainAir Plus by making relevant knowledge, resources, or tools available to the network or on a bilateral basis. Corporate Membership receive the following benefits:
- A listing in ICAO’s Aviation Training Directory (ATD)
- A posting of the Member’s website link on the TrainAir Plus website
- Ability to host TrainAir Plus courses
- Continuous access to TrainAir Plus’s Electronic Management System (TPeMS)
- Ability to produce training certificates through the TPeMS
- Ability to develop Compliant Training Packages (CTPs)
- Ability to develop Partnership Training Packages (PTPs)
- Opportunity for the Member’s training arm to develop CTPs
