NextGen implementation and application test by Ulisses Sodré de Almeida, Edasim, Brazil.

The company I work for, EDASIM, is SkyRadar's representative and we are conducting implementations in America.

I had never seen the equipment physically and before coming into contact with the system I had no knowledge of radar technology.

I did a search to know the types of radars, the frequency bands used and a few more basic things. Despite being pedagogical, the SkyRadar equipment is very well built with very resistant and state-of-the-art materials.

Another strong point is that the team is always looking for improvements and updates.

The ease of updating the software is fantastic because everything runs in browsers.

The system's operation is very simple:

  • the teacher/administrator adjusts the antenna rotation speed, signal strength and update rate

  • this data goes to each student who treats the signal, interprets the information and applies filters to optimize the reading and detect what is needed.

By the end of my 3 days training session I was almost a radar operator!

If you are interested in working with Edasim in South America to integrate your radar training system in Aviation Academies, Military Colleges or Universities, please contact Edasim directly or talk to Ulisses on LinkedIn.
